McKINNEY, George Edward -- George Edward McKINNEY, 82, of Fairfield, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A private service is planned. The body has been cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to parkinsonfoundation.org or michaeljfox.org.

Arrangements are in the care of Palm Bay Funeral Home in Florida.

Mr. McKINNEY was born July 1, 1926, in Richford, Vt., the son of Lawrence and Edith McKINNEY.

Mr. KcKINNEY completed a machinist trade school and was employed at Nestles Corp.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.

He enjoyed doing puzzles, watching football, eating good food and spending time with family.

Survivors include one son, Tim McKINNEY and wife Holly of Fairfield; one daughter, Alissa McKINNEY of California; one brother, Fred McKINNEY of Michigan; one half brother, Bruce McKINNEY of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
