HAWTHORNE, Enid M. -- Enid M. HAWTHORNE, age 91, of Keosauqua, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

HAWTHORNE, Enid Mae -- Enid Mae HAWTHORNE, 91, of Keosauqua, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Fell Cemetery in Libertyville.

Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. HAWTHORNE was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Libertyville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel PEARSON. She married Earl B. HAWTHORNE in Donnelson. He died July 6, 1976.

Mrs. HAWTHORNE attended local schools and graduated from college with diploma in education. She taught school for the Fairfield Community School District and Round Prairie Rural School, retiring from teaching in 1969.

Survivors include two sons, Lester HAWTHORNE and David HAWTHORNE, both of Farmington; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon STONE; and one brother, Wilber PEARSON.
