KREMER, Ronald L. -- Ronald L. KREMER entered new life on Monday, December 15, 2008 at his home in Eldon. He was born to Cletus and Theresa WIRTZ KIREMER on August 15, 1953 in Independence, Iowa. Ron married Brenda Lousie FLOWERS on June 15, 1974 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She survives him. He is survived by two daughters, Tisa and husband John KIRSCHNER their son Dane of Madison, Wisconsin and Nicole and husband Stanley SEDORE and their sons, Charles, William and Thomas of Iowa City, Iowa. This kind compassionate man was a best friend, loving husband, cherished father and an adored and indulgent grandfather. Ron is also survived by his parents and ten siblings, Eugene and wife Valerie of Gardiner, Montana, Kenneth and wife Therese of Cedar Falls, Patricia STRUBLE and husband Richard, Larry and wife Carol of Delhi, Iowa, Jerry of Marshalltown, Raymond and wife Denise of Waterloo, Janice SKOG and husband Barry of Burnsville, Minnesota, Roger and wife Connie of Ottumwa, Connie BALK and husband Dennis of Dodgeville Wisconsin, Norma JACOBSEN and husband Jon of Cedar Rapids, A brother-in-law Bill FLOWERS and wife Sherry of Marshalltown, a sister-in-law Barbara SCHRAFEL and husband Terry of Cedar Rapids and his parents-in-law, Carlon and Lorraine FLOWERS of Gilman, Iowa. Ronald was also honored in life with numerous nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by one sister and husband, Carolyn and John SHEEHAN, and an infant brother, Leroy.

Ronald graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in 1971, Marshalltown Community College in 1974 and the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1975. He was employed with Garland-Van Arkel in Oskaloosa and the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown before acquiring Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon in 1989. Ronald belonged to the Iowa funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Serving grieving families for thirty-three years was his life's vocation which brought him great fulfillment.

In Marshalltown he belonged to St. Henry Catholic Church, Evening Kiwanis and coached Girl's Little League. In Eldon Ron served on parish council of the former St. Aloysius Catholic Church, was Treasurer for many years of the Cardinal Music Boosters, Past President of the former Eldon Lions Club, Past President of the Batavia Lions Club, Junior Warden of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge of Batavia, President of the Eldon Public Library Board of Trustees, member of Gothic Area Tourism of Eldon, instrumental in securing the American Gothic House Center for Eldon and currently belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield and the Fairfield Knights of Columbus. When needed for any community project in the last twenty years he was always available to help, promote and support its success.

Ron's family asks that in his memory and in support of the things he enjoyed that memorials be made to Friends of the Eldon Library, the American Gothic House Center, the St. Mary's building fund (Welcoming Family of Faith), the Batavia Public Library, or the Eldon KD Center Board. Visitation is on Friday, December 19, 2008 from 3 to 8 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield with a Christian prayer service to begin at 6 pm. Family will greet friends beginning at 5 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 10:30 am at the church with Father Stephen Page officiating. Private family burial will be on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown at 2 pm.

Casket bearers will be Richard Wagler, Douglas Robertson, Harry Monroe, Don Ward, Gary Heinrichs and David Wise. Honorary casket bearers will be his siblings.
