John W. STEWART died at his home in Polk Township on the 14th inst. Funeral M.E. Church in Packwood; interment in Packwood Cemetery. Native of Richland County, Ohio, born Sept. 7, 1839, and 12 years later came with his parents to Van Buren County, Iowa, where the family resided for three years, then removed to Fauquier County, Va. Grew to manhood there and married Elizabeth M. CASE, June 5, 1867, who died several years ago. His wife was a daughter of Adam CASE, a business man of early Fairfield. Mr. and Mrs. STEWART were parents of seven children, all but one survive: Frank E., Madge C., J. Edgar, George H., Harriet L. and Helen M. The family came to this county in 1876 and with few exceptions lived on a Polk Township farm. Member M.E. Church.
