Obit. Helen Margaret STEWART, daughter of John W. and Margaret CASE STEWART, born in a farm 3½ miles s.w. of Packwood 50 years ago Dec. 21, 1881. Following the death of her father 21 years ago, she with her sisters Madge and Hattie, and brother Frank, moved to Packwood, where she has lived ever since. Mrs. STEWART passed away 30 years ago while still on the farm, and Frank died five years ago. Another brother, Ed, lives in Sacramento, Calif., and George STEWART at Dubuque, Iowa. Services were held Thurs. P.M. at the home, conducted by Rev. Treverton Warren, pastor of the M.E. Church of which deceased had been a member since a girl in her teens. Roads were in such condition that cars were impossible. A few horse drawn vehicles were used. Most came on foot. As the home was only a short distance from the cemetery, fences were lowered and the casket carried to the grave. Burial took place in the family lot. Relatives left to mourn their loss are sisters Madge and Hattie at home, brother Ed, nieces Helen and Miriam Elizabeth, and nephew Morgan of Sacramento, brother George of Dubuque and this three sons (sic), Harold, James and Frank, who had made their home with their aunts since the death of their mother four years ago.
