Mrs. Libbie LOCKHART and Mrs. E. V. COX were called to Batavia by the illness of their mother, Mrs. Emma SHIERY who died Thurs. at home of her son Clarence SHIERY in Batavia. Born in Illinois, moved with parents to farm near Ioka, when one year of age. Had she lived to Feb. 8 she would have been 81 years of age. Since her marriage to Mr. SHIERY she has lived in Arkansas, Texas, Ohio, North Dakota, and Canada, moved to Packwood 15 years ago. From a family of 11 children, five are living: Mrs. COX and Mrs. LOCKHART of Packwood; Zean SHIERY of Standpoint, Idaho; Mrs. Abbie HEATH of Grimshaw, Canada, and Clarence of Batavia. She also has two aged sisters, Mrs. Nettie DRAPER, San Diego, Calif., and Mary Ann CASTERINE of St. Paul, Kansas, and one brother, Charles GOODMAN of San Diego, Calif. Services at Batavia Christian Church; burial in Packwood Cemetery beside the body of her husband.
