Mrs. Jennie C. NELSON, 85, died Mon. night at her home 1½ miles north of Fairfield. Bedfast five years. Behner Funeral Home. Burial in Packwood Cemetery. Resident of Jefferson County 34 years, including 20 years in the Packwood area. Born July 28, 1871, in Cambridge, Ill., daughter of Wm. & Hannah FLEMING SLACK; married Feb. 3, 1892, to John NELSON who died Dec. 21, 1938. Survived by children: Mrs. Carl KETCHAM, George NELSON and Mrs. Henry SPARKS, Fairfield; Wm. NELSON and Chester NELSON, Cambridge, Ill., Mrs. Marion STERNER, Agency; James NELSON and Fred NELSON, Ollie; Cecil NELSON, Batavia; Mrs. Lloyd LIGGETT, Hedrick; and Mrs. Glen SCARBOROUGH, Pleasant Plain; 13 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Maggie HIGGINS, Creston. One daughter and one sister are deceased.
