HOLSAPPLE, Barbara J. -- Barbara J. HOLSAPPLE, 73, of rural Cantril, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Milton Christian Church, with the Rev. Justin DeVries officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 7:30-9 p.m.

Memorials to Milton Christian Church may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 13605 Highway 2, Cantril 52542.

Mrs. HOLSAPPLE was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Drakesville, the daughter of William Gale and Wilma FITZGERALD HANCOCK. She married Robert HOLSAPPLE 52 years ago.

Mrs. HOLSAPPLE grew up in Polo, Mo., and graduated from high school.

She was a member of Milton Christian Church, Red Hat Society, Christian Women's Club, Milton Legion Auxiliary and First Responders. She also was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Other interests include playing cards, sewing, gardening and watching hummingbirds.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Allen and wife Rhonda of West Des Moines, Craig of Marshalltown, Rene and wife Deb of Marshalltown and Rod and wife Anne of Overland Park, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty DAVIS and Sue BURTON; and one brother, Bill HANCOCK.
