LEMLEY, Carrold G. -- Carrold G. LEMLEY, 81, of Libertyville, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Wellman Cemetery in Wellman.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to Hospice House in Ottumwa.
Mr. LEMLEY was born June 15, 1927, in South English, the son of Omar and Ona BELL LEMLEY. He married Charlotte YOUNG Feb. 27, 1946, in Sigourney.
Mr. LEMLEY served in the Merchant Marines and then was drafted into the United States Army. He served from January 1946 through July 1947, including 15 months in the occupation of Japan.
Mr. LEMLEY and his wife worked at and managed County Homes for more than 30 years. He later worked as a security guard for Pinkertons and for six years at Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. in Fairfield.
Mr. LEMLEY was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars at Spirit Lake.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, bowling, card playing and camping with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Angie EASLEY and husband Gary of Billings, Mont.; one son, Brian LEMLEY of Lead, S.D.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; one sister, Deloris PATTERSON; and three brothers, Moris, Don and Floyd LEMLEY.
