WHITHAM, Flaurice L. 'Flossie' -- Flaurice L. "Flossie" WHITHAM, 86, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday evening, Nov. 29, 2008, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines.

A funeral is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Friends may call at their convenience to pay their respects.

Memorials have been established to Hospice of Central Iowa and First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. WHITHAM was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Webster, the daughter of Lewis Clarence "Clair" and Hazel MOORE DERSCH. She married Roll "Roy" WHITHAM March 29, 1941, in Fairfield. He died Oct. 31, 1981.

Mrs. WHITHAM grew up in the Webster community. She attended beauty school in Ottumwa. She and her husband lived their entire married life in the Fairfield community.

Mrs. WHITHAM was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mapleleaf Club and Farm Bureau.

Survivors include three children, Kenneth R. WHITHAM and wife Karen of Fairfield, Caroline "Cid" SCHMIDT and husband Duke of Fairfield and Donald R. WHITHAM of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and sever great-grandchildren.

In additon to her husband, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Allen Lee WHITHAM, and her parents.
