LOGLI, Richard E. -- Richard E. LOGLI, 81, of Ankeny, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at home.

Arrangements are pending with Ankeny Funeral Home.

LOGLI, Richard E. -- Richard E. LOGLI, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at his home in Ankeny. Visitation was Friday, November 7, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut St., Ankeny, Iowa. Burial with military honors was at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Richard was born November 14, 1926 to Pietro and Ottavia LOGLI in Ankeny, Iowa. He worked in the family business (Logli's Store) in Ankeny which was started by his father in 1908. He continued in the grocery business until recently with his son in Fairfield, IA. Richard was in the US Army from May of 1945 to October 1946. He married Virginia LARSON on November 16, 1947.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Ankeny; son, Mark (Ronda) LOGLI of Fairfield, IA; daughter, Ann MASRI of Temple City, California; grandsons, Julio (Brandi) LOGLI of Stockport, IA, Capt. Mario (Patricia) LOGLI of South Korea, and Jonathan MASRI of Temple City, California; great grandson, Logan LOGLI of Stockport, IA; sisters, Lee JOHNSON of Ankeny, and Dena RANDOLPH of Ankeny; sister-in-law, Enes LOGLI of Ankeny, IA, and many other extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Reco LOGLI; sisters, Anita BIRDSALL, Clara STRUTHERS and Dora PETERSON.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ankeny Historical Society, the American Heart Association or Ankeny First United Methodist Church.
