DOVICO, Carolina -- Carolina DOVICO, 79, of Batavia, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Interment will follow in Batavia Cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, followed by family visitation at 8:30 p.m.

Mrs. DOVICO was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Partinico, Palermo, Sicily, the daughter of Pietro and Maria Gracella MANTO. She married Jim DOVICO Sept. 10, 1968. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. DOVICO immigrated to the United States in 1968. She was a mother and homemaker.

Mrs. DOVICO was a parishioner of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary ELLIS and husband Matt of Batavia and Grace COLLINS and husband Gary of Eldon; three grandchildren; and four siblings, Antonella LOCASSIO, Pietro MANTO, Vincenzia SALVATORE and Frank MANTO, all residing in Sicily.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
