LEFFLER, Gustin -- Gustin LEFFLER, 92, of Stockport, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, in St. Louis, Mo.

LEFFLER, Gustin V. -- Gustin V. LEFFLER, 92, of Stockport, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Alexian Brothers Sherbrooke Village in St. Louis, Mo.

A funeral was held this morning at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Elder Dan Spray officiating. Burial was in Vale Cemetery north of Bonaparte.

Mr. LEFFLER was born March 11, 1916, near Stockport, the son of George V. and Lucretia ROBERTS LEFFLER. He married June A. BURLINGTON Nov. 16, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo. She died Dec. 20, 1996.

Mr. LEFFLER lived most of his life in the Stockport area where he farmed and sold Wonderlife fertilizer. He also had been employed in the Bonaparte Record-Republican newspaper's advertising department.

He served in the United States Army in the Philippine Islands during World War II.

Mr. LEFFLER was a member of Community of Christ Church in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include one son, Robert Wallace LEFFLER of Lawrence, Kan.; and one daughter, Nancy Lynn POELLOT of St. Louis.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
