WILBURN, Jay -- Jay WILBURN, 78, of Bloomfield, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bloomfield United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, with the Revs. Kevin Gingerich and Eric Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the family present from 2-4 p.m.

Memorials have been established to Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the American Cancer Society.

Mr. WILBURN was born April 22, 1930, in Van Buren County, the son of Evert Ray and Julia Keo BATTERSON WILBURN. He married Margaurette AESCHLIMAN July 22, 1950, in Bloomfield.

Mr. WILBURN graduated from Selma Consolidated Schools in 1947. He worked for ACCO/Louden in quality control.

He served in the National Guard.

Mr. WILBUR (sic) was a member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church. He was vice president of the Davis County Historical Society and served on the Senior Citizens Board. He also was on the Board of Adjustment for the city of Bloomfield.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mike WILBURN and wife Marilyn of Concord, Calif., Carl WILBURN and wife Karen of Glidden and Tony WILBURN and wife DeAnna of Taylorsville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen SPEES of St. Charles, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Keo BAKER and Opal KLICKER.
