HINING, Lucile Bernice -- Lucile Bernice HINING, 87, formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Monte Knudsen officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Faith Christian Outreach Church of Mount Pleasant or Amenity Hospice of Cedar Rapids. Cards and memorials may be sent to 28758 115th St., Columbus Junction 52738.

Mrs. HINING was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Lick Creek Township in Van Buren County, the daughter of Charles M. and Merle H. JOHNSON LEWIS. She married Glendon Lorain HINING April 11, 1942, in Princeton, Mo. He died Sept. 4, 1987.

Mrs. HINING was a member of the Fairfield community most of her life. She was a cook at the Fairfield High School for more than 20 years. She had made her residence in Mount Pleasant since 1996.

She was a member of Faith Outreach Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenda EGLI and husband Darrell of Columbus Junction; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roy LEWIS; and three sisters, Mary KAWANO, Beulah LEWIS and an infant.
