WIGGINS, Ruth BURGER -- Ruth BURGER WIGGINS, 88, of Princeton, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Liberty Village in Princeton.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Bea Hoover-Mulvany officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or an organization of the donor's choice.

Mrs. WIGGINS was born June 22, 1920, the daughter of John and Katie BURGER of Jefferson County. She married Charles T. WIGGINS Dec. 28, 1939. He died Dec. 26, 1980.

Mrs. WIGGINS was a graduate of Fairfield High School. She was a rural school teacher in Jefferson County before moving to Princeton, Ill., in 1940. She was a homemaker and worked part time at the former House and Garden Shop and The Shop on Main.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Princeton, South Bend Social Club and Ladies of the Elks Auxiliary.

Survivors include three children, Connie HENRY and husband Greg of Rogers, Ark., William C. WIGGINS and wife Barbara of Princeton and Thomas L. WIGGINS and wife Jane of Monticello, Ill.; one sister, Vera LUEDTKE of Fairfield; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter; and two sisters, Louise SCHILLERSTROM and Edith GILBERT.
