WINSLOW, Dorothy E. -- Dorothy E. WINSLOW, 85, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Elsa Lawry officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
A book of condolence may be signed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Village Terrace of Keosauqua or to a charity of the donor's choice. Cards and memorials may be sent to 303 Franklin St., PO Box 426, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. WINSLOW was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Lockridge, the daughter of Fred and Anna Louise ERICKSON GUSTAFSON. She married Norman "Ned" WINSLOW Oct. 18, 1941, in Memphis, Mo. He died Oct. 3, 2000.
Mrs. WINSLOW lived most of her life in the Fairfield community and the last three years in Keosauqua. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1940. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was employed at Martin's Drug Store for several years.
Mrs. WINSLOW was a member of BPOE No. 1192 in Fairfield and attended First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge.
In her early married life, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, needlepoint and other fancy work. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandcihldren. She also enjoyed lunch on Fridays at the Elks Lodge with her lady friends.
Survivors include one son, Gary and wife Karla of Keosauqua; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel SCHWARTZ of Rock Island, Ill.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter; and two brothers, Harold and Virgil GUSTAFSON.
