NORMAN, Dean F. -- Dean F. NORMAN, 82, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, April 6, 2008.

A private family memorial service was held.

Memorials may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, 940 Royal Ave., Suite 410, Medford, OR 97504 or to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, 2600 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 100, Medford, OR 97504.

Conger-Morris Medford Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. NORMAN was born in 1925 in Fairfield, the son of Ronald C. and Willmetta WRIGHT NORMAN. He met his wife LaNette while in college, and they married in 1949.

Mr. NORMAN graduated from Fairfield High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army during World War II. He went on to attend Iowa State University, where he majored in forestry and played football and basketball. In 1951, he and his wife moved to Oregon, and he entered the lumber business, eventually becoming the owner of Norman Lumber Company and Hi-Way Lumber Company.

He was a member of the local Forest Products Hoo-Hoo Club.

He enjoyed all sports, especially football, basketball, skiing and fishing.
