THOMAS, Lucille 'Lucy' -- Lucille "Lucy" THOMAS, 92, of Richland, died late Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at her new home in Winfield.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

THOMAS, Lucille 'Lucy' -- Lucille "Lucy" THOMAS, 92, formerly of Richland, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at home in Winfield.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Peggy Egbert officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. immediately preceding the funeral.

Memorials to Richland Public Library may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 206 N. Clark St., Winfield 52659.

Mrs. THOMAS was born Dec. 28, 1915, in Richland, the daughter of Harry and Edith SINGLETON McCLURE. She married Howard "Hob" THOMAS in 1938. He died in October 1975.

A graduate of Richland High School, Mrs. THOMAS spent her entire life in Richland until moving near her son in February. She served for many years as Richland's Congregate Meals site coordinator, retiring at the age of 80.

She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Mrs. THOMAS was a member of Richland Christian Church and later Richland United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include three sons, Keith and wife Michele of Winfield, Harry of Iowa City and Dennis and wife Sue of Queen Creek, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn JACKSON of Winter Haven, Fla.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawrence and John McCLURE; and one sister, Rosaleen STARR.
