ANDERSON, Vance -- Vance ANDERSON, 81, of rural Cantril, died late Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Cantril Christian Church, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Mr. ANDERSON has been accorded cremation.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Memorials to Cantril Fire Department, Cantril Grass Roots or Cantril Christian Church may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 25267 Hickory Ave., Cantril.

Mr. ANDERSON was born June 26, 1926, in Cantril, the son of Frank E. and Jessie Keo VANCE ANDERSON. He married Wilma BURNETT March 15, 1947, in Des Moines.

Mr. ANDERSON grew up in the Cantril area and graduated from Cantril High School in 1943. He was a lifelong farmer.

Mr. ANDERSON served on several boards, including Fox Valley School Board, Production Credit Association and Township and County Committee. He was a member of Cantril Christian Church.

Mr. ANDERSON was an avid hunter and trapper.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Martin ANDERSON of Cantril; one daughter, Brenda ROBINSON and husband Cy of Davenport; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and one sister, Marilyn JOHNSTON of Edina, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Frances ANDERSON.
