SCHMITT, Linda -- Linda SCHMITT, 57, of rural Bonaparte, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, at home.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

SCHMITT, Linda -- Linda SCHMITT, 57, of rural Bonaparte, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, at home. She suffered from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. June 24 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials to Hospice of Central Iowa may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 28988 Route J-40, Bonaparte 52620.
Mrs. SCHMITT was born May 25, 1951, in Bloomfield, the daughter of Charles Edward and Eulala June DAVIS ROBERTS. She married Roderick SCHMITT March 4, 1972, at Sharon Presbyterian Church, north of Farmington.
Mrs. SCHMITT lived in several states where her father worked in construction and in 1963, moved to Keosauqua where the family owned and operated Roberts Park. Mrs. SCHMITT graduated from Van Buren Community High School in 1969 and attended Parsons College in Fairfield and Southeastern Community College in Keokuk. She and her husband farmed near Bonaparte, and she and her sister-in-law had operated the Keosauqua Sale Barn Café. She had also worked at Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte, Barker Company in Keosauqua and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.
Mrs. SCHMITT enjoyed bowling, camping with the family recreational vehicle and attending her children's sporting events.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Roderick Ryan SCHMITT stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Germany and Anthony Gene "Tony" SCHMITT of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Sonya June ADAM and husband Tyler of Fairfield and Shelby Alayna SCHMITT at home; two grandchildren; her father of Cantril; and one brother, Charles ROBERTS of Cantril.
Her mother preceded her in death.
