STANDLEY, Pearl I. -- Pearl I. STANDLEY, 99, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon and Adam Standley co-officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or the Parkview Care Center activity fund. Cards and memorials may be sent to 401 Wagner, Duncombe 50532.

Mrs. STANDLEY was born Aug. 23, 1908, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Clinton Elmer and Mabel MORRIS HUFF. She married Alvah Raymond STANDLEY in May 1930. He died Aug. 11, 1970.

Mrs. STANDLEY was a graduate of Bonaparte High School. She earned a degree in elementary education at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant and taught at rural school, Lockridge and Fairfield.

Mrs. STANDLEY was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield and Order of the White Shrine.

Survivors include one son, Jack STANDLEY and wife Nina of Duncombe; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchilren (sic); 10 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean RATHMEL and Marianne SCHREPFER, both of Bonaparte; and one brother, Clinton HUFF of Brookings, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mary, Edna, Eunice and Alice; and two brothers, Ben and Morris.
