Larry L. PEEBLER, 69, of Batavia, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kremer Funeral Chapel in Batavia, with the Rev. Jack Jackson officiating. Cremation will follow, with inurnment in Batavia Cemetery at a later date.
Open visitation began at noon today at the chapel, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. and the family present following the service until 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Wapello County.
Mr. PEEBLER was born May 21, 1939, in Ottumwa, the son of Glen and Grace PEEBLER. He married Connie HUMSTEN Aug. 31, 1990, in Batavia.
Mr. PEEBLER was raised and educated in Batavia, graduating from Batavia High School in 1957. He was employed by the Jefferson County secondary road department for 44 years, retiring in 2001.
Mr. PEEBLER was a member of the Kilwinning Masonic Lodge No. 198 of Batavia.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deb PEEBLER of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Janeen MOTTERN of Creed Moor, N.C.; two sons, Jeff PEEBLER of Rapid City, S.D., and David PEEBLER of Altoona; three stepdaughters, Sue SWAIM of California, Tami SWAIM of Des Moines and Deb BARNETT of Eldon; three stepsons, Daniel SWAIM of Altoona, Toby SWAIM of Burlington and Rob KENNING of Dothan, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one half brother, Philip PETERS of Oxnard, Calif.; and one half sister, Fayelda PETERSON of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one half brother, George PEEBLER.
