Eleanor SHAW HESSEREleanor SHAW was born in the state of Pennsylvania, July 15, 1815. In 1834 she married to Andrew Hesser in the state of Ohio. In 1837 in the company with her husband she removed from Ohio and settled in Linn County, Iowa where they remained until 1851 when they moved to Jefferson County and settled in Walnut Township, where on the 7 of March, 1869, her husband died.
Since then she has continued to live in the same neighborhood until January 2, 1893, when after a short illness, she passed away.
She was the mother of 5 sons and 6 daughters. Seven children survive her.
Her funeral was preached at her late residence in Coppock, January 4, 1893 by Wm. E. Patterson, paster of Brighton M.E. Church.

Wednesday, January 11, 1893Mrs. Eleanor S. HESSER, died in Walnut township the 2d inst. She was the widow of Andrew HESSER, and came to Iowa in 1839, and to Walnut Township in 1851. She was the mother of eleven children, 7 of whom survive her.
