HENDERSON, Evelyne Viola 'Connie' -- Evelyne Viola "Connie" HENDERSON, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday April 24, 2008, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a long illness.

A service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Jay Jentinks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.

Mrs. HENDERSON was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Rose Ella KNIGHT HUFF. She married Dale Sylvester HENDERSON Aug. 2, 1938, in Lancaster, Mo.

She and her husband moved to Fairfield, where they resided for most of their lives.

Mrs. HENDERSON enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening. She was a Hawkeyes and Tiger Woods fan.

Survivors include three sons, Dale Jr. and wife Alice of Belen, N.M., Dennis D. and wife Joanne of Urbandale and Rodney M. of Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Sondra FARRINGTON and husband Albert of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and four sisters.
