WARNER, Merribelle J. -- Merribelle J. WARNER, 89, of Stockport, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

WARNER, Merribelle Josephine -- Merribelle Josephine WARNER, 89, formerly of Stockport, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Michael Renken and the Rev. Harold Schutte co-officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.
Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice or Stockport United Methodist Church. Cards and memorials may be sent to 806 W. Sixth St., Hedrick 52563.

Mrs. WARNER was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Birmingham, the daughter of Albert C. and Alta BEHNER MILLER. She married James Woodrow WARNER June 30, 1945, in Ottumwa. He died March 1, 1992.
Mrs. WARNER graduated from Birmingham High School in 1937 and from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She was a schoolteacher in the Stockport area in one-room houses and later at the Van Buren Junior High School in Stockport.
Mrs. WARNER was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church, where she played piano for the choir. She organized the local Note-A-Bells, a Sweet Adeline group that performed for the community. In addition, she was a member of the United Methodist Women and Ladies Literary Guild.
Survivors include one sister, Lois Ruth BESWICK of Kearney, Mo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, David MILLER, Maurice MILLER and Dale MILLER.
