TALBOTT, Florence M. -- Florence M. TALBOTT, 95, formerly of Birmingham, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Birmingham United Methodist Church. Cremation has been accorded, and burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.

Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

TALBOTT, Florence M. -- Florence M. TALBOTT, 95, formerly of Birmingham, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. In accord with Mrs. TALBOTT's wishes, her body has been cremated. Burial of cremains will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.

Family visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials to Birmingham United Methodist Church may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 219 W. Jefferson St., Osceola 50213.

Mrs. TALBOTT was born Oct. 8, 1912, near Eldon, the daughter of Guy and Mabel HODSON ACTON. She married Clarence P. TALBOTT Dec. 22, 1934, in Batavia. He died Sept. 19, 1975.

Mrs. TALBOTT grew up in the Eldon area and graduated from Eldon High School in 1930. She and her husband farmed in Wapello and Jefferson counties and retired to Birmingham in 1975.

Mrs. TALBOTT was a member of Birmingham United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She had been a 4-H leader and a member of Farm Bureau.

Survivors include three sons, Raymond TALBOTT and wife Carrie of Osceola, Virgil TALBOTT of Fullerton, Calif., and David TALBOTT and wife Elizabeth of Lake Zurich, Ill.; six granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Maxine DeBURN of Ottumwa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James ACTON; and three sisters, Fern MILLER, Irene SPILMAN and Barbara Jean DAINS.
