GLOVER, Doreen Elaine -- Doreen Elaine GLOVER, 60, of Keosauqua died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at home.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m Friday at the funeral home where family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 123, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. GLOVER was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Burlington, the daughter of Raymond J. and Betty McDANIEL JEFFERSON. She married Gary SMITH. He died June 10, 1976. She married Garry GLOVER April 22, 1978, in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. GLOVER lived in Burlington and Mount Pleasant, graduating from Mount Pleasant High School in 1966. She lived in Keosauqua the past 30 years. Mrs. GLOVER had been a nurse's aide at Henry County and Van Buren County hospitals and a teacher's aide at Van Buren Community School. She received a heart transplant Sept. 22, 1996, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

She had been a Special Olympics coach and a member of Mount Pleasant CB Club.

She enjoyed researching genealogy.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Russell SMITH of South Boston, Mass., and Rodney SMITH and wife Michelle of Conway Springs, Kan.; one daughter, Lena SMITH of Ottumwa; two stepsons, Todd GLOVER and wife Jackie and Aaron GLOVER, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; one stepgrandson; her stepfather, Donald HUNT of Mount Pleasant; and one stepsister, Connie HAUSKINS of Cedar Rapids.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Renee SHIMITZ.
