RICHMOND, Edward Dean -- Edward Dean RICHMOND, 81, of Fairfield, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at home.

In accordance with his wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and no funeral is planned at this time.

A family celebration of his life will be held at an undetermined time.

Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Public Library.

Mr. RICHMOND was born June 29, 1926, in Hannibal, Mo., the son of George E. and Anna P. JOHNSON RICHMOND. He married Wanda SIDWELL March 26, 1952, in Hannibal.

Mr. RICHMOND was a graduate of the University of Missouri. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. RICHMOND was employed as a railroad signalman for Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years.

He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Fairfield.

He enjoyed speinding time with family, walking, reading, camping and using his computer.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Jane RICHMOND of La Paz, BCS, Mexico, Sue HOWARD and husband Ed of Fairfield and Jim RICHMOND of Fairfield; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, John RICHMOND of Springfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George RICHMOND; and one sister, Eleanor OSBOURNE.
