BRENNEMAN, Foster E. -- Foster E. BRENNEMAN, 83, of Fairfield, died Friday evening, March 28, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a short illness.
A service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Revs. Robert Koepcke and Richard Wallarab officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
A Foster E. BRENNEMAN Memorial Scholarship for Baseball and Softball has been established.

Mr. BRENNEMAN was born July 19, 1924, in DelRoy, Pa., the son of Foster Elias and Elizabeth SCHOCK BRENNEMAN. He married Anna WHEATLEY Aug. 11, 1956, at Barhydt Chapel on the former Parsons College campus.
Mr. BRENNEMAN grew up in Charles Town, W.Va. He graduated from Dickinson College and did graduate work at University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was a professor of German and Spanish at Parsons College from 1954-1973. He then worked as a mail carrier in Fairfield, retiring in 1987.
Mr. BRENNEMAN was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, where he was a 50-year member of the choir. He was a past member of the Lions Club.
Mr. BRENNEMAN enjoyed waking and waving to passersby, traveling overseas to German-speaking countries and riding on and watching trains. He also enjoyed spending time with family and watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He regularly attended high school and middle school athletic events.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Suella PILCHER and husband Jesse of Fairfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

On August 11, 1956 he was united in marriage to Anna WHEATLEY at Barhydt Chapel located on the former Parsons College campus.

Foster was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield and was a 50 year choir member there. Foster was also a past member of the Lions Club.
Foster enjoyed walking outside and waving to passersby. He enjoyed traveling overseas to German speaking countries. In September 2007, he and his wife, Anna, made a trip to Switzerland. This was Foster's 15th trip to Europe. He also enjoyed riding on and watching trains.
Foster enjoyed spending time with family and watching his grandchildren in their sports: baseball, wrestling, football, soccer, and softball. He was also an avid supporter of Fairfield High School and Fairfield Middle School sports attending athletic events regularly.
Foster was preceded in death by his parents.
Foster is survived by his wife, Anna, their daughter Suella PILCHER and her husband Jesse of Fairfield, four grandchildren: grandsons Gene and Jacob PILCHER; and step-grandchildren Tylor and Courtney PILCHER and two great-grandsons Landen and Keegan PILCHER.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
