MATHIAS, Marland M. -- Marland M. MATHIAS, 60, of Richland, died at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

MATHIAS, Marland Mearl -- Marland Mearl MATHIAS, 60, of Richland, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at home.

A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. April 5 at Woolson Friends Church near Richland, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Masonic Cemetery in Tipton.

Visitation with the family will begin at 11:30 a.m. April 5 at the church.

A memorial has been established and may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1086 Highway 1 and 78, Richland 52585.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.

Mr. MATHIAS was born Nov. 23, 1947, in Iowa City, the son of Mearl and Helen DAUGHERTY MATHIAS.

Mr. MATHIAS attended country school at Penn No. 6 near Perlee. He also attended Packwood schools and graduated from Pekin High School in 1966. He worked at Rockwell Standard in Fairfield and farmed until his health forced him to retire.

Survivors include his mother of Richland; two sisters, Marlene MATHIAS and Cynthia SYLVESTER and husband Phil, all of Richland; and four brothers, Dennis MATHIAS and wife Connie of Amarillo, Texas, Phillip MATHIAS and wife Marcia of Ottumwa and Roger MATHIAS and Daren MATHIAS and wife Peggy, all of Richland.

He ws preceded in death by his father and one brother, Dwight.
