DABNER, Walter Rudolph Jr. -- Walter Rudolph DABNER Jr., 85, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008.
A funeral was held this morning at Berea Baptist Church in Fort Worth, with the Rev. Hoise Bell officiating. Interment will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mr. DABNER was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Fairfield, the son of William and Ida M. HICKMAN DABNER.
Mr. DABNER attended Parsons College and later served in the United States Army. He retired from Malleable Iron Co. after 35 years.
Mr. DABNER was affiliated with Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masons. He was a deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church in Fort Worth, and he later united with Berea Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia DABNER; two sons, Walter R. DABNER Jr. and Edward DABNER; two daughters, Deborah GREENE and Sherri Lavell DABNER DILLARD; two sisters, Stella ROBINSON and Georgia M. JACKSON; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
