CASTEEL, Carolyn L. -- Carolyn L. CASTEEL, 69, of Packwood, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Prairie View United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rusty Crabtree officiating. According to family wishes, the body has been cremated. Burial of cremains will be Tuesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Mo.

A luncheon will follow Monday's service in the church's fellowship hall.

Mrs. CASTEEL was born Oct. 21, 1938, in Middletown, N.Y., the daughter of Burt and Stella BASTIC WOOD. She married Michael B. CASTEEL July 8, 1962, in Middletown, N.Y. He died Jan. 7, 2006.

Mrs. CASTEEL lived in the Packwood area for the last year. She had been a surgical nurse at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, Mo., for 51 years.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Lucinda Susan MEYER and husband Rob of Packwood; one son, Burley Michael CASTEEL of Charleston, Mo.; five grandchildren; four sisters, Peggy THORNE of Newindsor, N.Y., Angel WOOD of Bloomingburg, N.Y., Rosemary TOWNSEND of Bloomingburg, N.Y., and Elizabeth TERRY of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and two brothers, Michael WOOD of Bloomingburg, N.Y., and Robert WOOD of Moravia, N.Y.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John THORNE; and one sister, Robin WOOD.
