MALLONEE, Fern Phyllis -- Fern Phyllis MALLONEE, 88, of Ottumwa, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.
A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Burial will be next to her husband in Chillicothe Cemetery in Chillicothe.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Church Building Fund. Cards and memorials may be sent to 307 S. Main St., Libertyville 52567.

Mrs. MALLONEE was born March 31, 1919, on a farm near Bunch, the daughter of Eli HOPKINS and Grace Garner COX HOPKINS. She married Jason MALLONEE Dec. 25, 1938, in Ottumwa. He died Oct. 23, 1996.
Mrs. MALLONEE and her husband moved around much in their married life as he worked in construction. They moved to Libertyville in 1955 and later purchased the Libertyville Telephone Company where Mrs. MALLONEE was a switchboard operator. After selling the company, they eventually settled in Ottumwa.
Survivors include one brother, Eli HOPKINS of Ottumwa; one sister, Genevieve CAHILL of Phoenix, Ariz.; four children, Judith BROBSTON and husband Don of Libertyville, Jerry MALLONEE and wife Paula of Denmark, Mark MALLONEE and wife Karen of Ankeny and Marla MILLS and husband David of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Jack MALLONEE and Marlon MALLONEE.
