HAMILTON, Donna Lee - Donna Lee HAMILTON, 70, of Vinton, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at home following a brief illness.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Vinton, with the Rev. Connie Wacht officiating. Following the service, the body will be cremated, and inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Russell Funeral Home in Vinton.

Mrs. HAMILTON was born Jan. 21, 1938, in Vinton, the daughter of Milford and Veda HURST NEVE. She married Jon J. HAMILTON Feb. 6, 1954, at her home in Vinton. He died Oct. 7, 2000.

Mrs. HAMILTON worked as a homemaker. She also was an Avon representative for many years in the 1970s. From 1979 until 1983, she owned and operated The Hitchin' Post in Garrison. She had been a resident of Vinton for the past eight years.

Mrs. HAMILTON was a member of the First Christian Church in Vinton. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a past officer of the Eagles Auxiliary, also in Vinton.

Survivors include one son, Daryn HAMILTON and wife Tammy of Fairfield; two daughters, Diana JOHNSON and husband Larry of Vinton and Dandeena SCHADLE and husband Gary of Van Horne; two sisters, Anna Jane HEPKER of Wayland and Betty SELKEN of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Hazel HALLIWILL and Rubie NOELLER.
