Robert 'Lee' DAVIS

Robert "Lee" DAVIS, 89, of 501 E. Adams Ave., died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church (Diciples of Christ), with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 3:30 - 5 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church or to Jefferson County Public Health Nursing Service.

Mr. DAVIS was born March 30, 1911, in Montrose, Mo., the son of Walter "Snode" and Zona POPE DAVIS. He married Vera F. HESTON on March 19, 1944, in Fairfield.

He lived most of his life in Hedrick and Fairfield communities. He was a farmer and a tank wagon driver for Phillips 66 Oil Company.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Fairfield and had served as deacon.

He is survived by his wife; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Jane DAVIS of Madison, Wis., and Gary D. DAVIS and Vera DAVIS, of Fairfield; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Orville DAVIS.
