BECKSFORT, Lois M. -- Lois M. BECKSFORT, 87, of Moorhead, Minn., died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, N.D.

A funeral was held at 2 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, Minn. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith, Wis.

Mrs. BECKSFORT was born Oct. 10, 1920, the daughter of Gerald Paul and Gladys WILLETT WELLER. She married Howard BECKSFORT Dec. 4, 1943, in Wisconsin.

Mrs. BECKSFORT grew up in the Stevens Point, Wis., area, graduating from high school in 1938. She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She graduated from Syracuse University and later from Parsons College in Fairfield.

She enjoyed reading, learning and politics. Through the years she volunteered for numerous service organizations.

Survivors include three children, Jane BROWN and husband Jerry of Urbandale, Brad BECKSFORT and wife Marti of Germantown, Tenn., and Paula OLSON and husband Erik of Fargo, N.D.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Francis WELLER of New Orleans, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, David; and two brothers, Patrick and Frederick.
