ECKLEY, Dallas D. -- Dallas D. ECKLEY, 66, of rural Hedrick, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, from injuries received in an accident.

A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Family Church, 24536 Highway 78, near Ollie.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

ECKLEY, Dallas Dale -- Dallas Dale ECKLEY, 65, of Hedrick, died at 5:24 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008.

A funeral was held this morning at Grace Family Church near Ollie. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Martinsburg.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. ECKLEY was born March 20, 1942, near Ollie, the son of Dale and Frances SMITH ECKLEY. He married Karen HEDLUND April 18, 1964, in Packwood.

Mr. ECKLEY attended school in Martinsburg and Hedrick and graduated from Ollie High School in 1960. He lived his entire life in Keokuk County where he farmed several years before starting a trucking career that lasted 40 years before his retirement. He was an owner/operator over-the-road semi-trailer driver, and he later worked for various trucking firms.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Scott and wife Barbara of Lee's Summit, Mo., Dar and wife Shelley of rural Hedrick and Brent and wife Sherene of Union, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five sisters, Myrna MADSEN of St. Charles, Mo., Jean LACEY of Center Point, Janet MADDY of Macomb, Mich., and Diana ECKLEY and Brenda LAMANSKY, both of Brighton; and one brother, Dennis ECKLEY of Brighton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary GILLILAND and Dorothy BRAIN; and one infant brother, Richard.
