CLINGAN, Charles Alvin -- Charles Alvin CLINGAN, 90, formerly of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery outside of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the CLINGAN family at 758 El Paso Drive, Derby, KS 67037.

Mr. CLINGAN was born March 30, 1917, in Ollie, the son of George Alvin and Gladys May BOTTGER CLINGAN. He married Marjorie J. DROZ Sept. 1, 1945, in Moberly, Mo.

Mr. CLINGAN had lived in Fairfield since 1936 before moving to Derby, Kan. He maintained heavy equipment for EN Duesenburg Construction and retired in 1981.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Carol A. ATKINS and husband Bill of Crown Point, Ind., Daryl L. CLINGAN and wife Karen of Derby, Kan., and Stanley C. CLINGAN and wife Rozella of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Arlene BESS of Davenport and Maxine RANDALL of Fairfield; and three brothers, Dean CLINGAN of Hedrick, Franklin CLINGAN of Fairfield and Dale CLINGAN of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and J.O. Omer CLINGAN; and one sister, Betty COFFIN.
