PORTER, Richard E. 'Dick' -- Richard E. "Dick" PORTER, 82, of Pekin, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity Church of Des Moines, 413 31st St. in Des Moines.

Family visitation will follow the service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the church.

Mr. PORTER was born in Clear Lake.

He had lived in Des Moines for many years and retired from Meredith Printing where he had worked as a pressman. Mr. PORTER was a World War II United States Army veteran.

He enjoyed gardening and old cars. He was a member of the Des Moines Men's Garden Club and Unity Church of Des Moines.

Survivors include one son, Jeff of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Dee" in 2004; and one daughter, Cindy.
