EDWIN H. DAVIS
Edwin H. DAVIS, who has been prominently identified with the civic affairs of this city for many years, passed away this morning at 2:10 at his home,, (sic) 202 North Sixth street, after being in failing health for nearly a year. He was taken ill in September and was a patient at the Jefferson County hospital for several weeks and was later removed to his home after being somewhat improved.
The funeral services are awaiting word from relatives at a distance. The body was removedto (sic) the Hoskins funeral home.
Mr. DAVIS was a member of the city council at the time of his death, having held this place for several years. He served on the school board for several years. He was a faithful member of the Christian church and was on the mission board and was on the building committee at the time of the erection of the present new church and he gave much of his time to this cause. He was affiliated with the K. of P. lodge and was always actice (sic) in its affairs.
Mr. DAVIS was 75 years old and he was born in West Newton in West Morland county, Pa., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott DAVIS. When a young man he came with his parents to Iowa and settled on a farm north of Fairfield. He was married to Miss (sic) Hattie BROWN Dec. 14, 1902 and she is left to mourn his passing. He also leaves three daughters: Mrs. Myrtle ROMINE and Mrs. May ROMINE or (sic) Syracuse, N. Y., and Mrs. Bessie McCLURE of South Bend, Ind. A son Harry C. DAVIS died at Grand Island, Neb., May 3, 1929 and another son Frank DAVIS died at Marietta, Ohio several years ago. He leaves two brothers and three sisters: Dr. S. K. DAVIS of Libertyville, H. D. DAVIS of Marshalltown, Mrs. J. T. RODGERS of this city, who is now spending the winter in Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. W. H. BATES and Mrs. Bruce RATCLIFFE of this city.

Funeral services for Edwin H. DAVIS, who passed away yesterday morning, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Christian church, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson.
The body will be taken from the Hoskins funeral home tomorrow morning to the DAVIS home, and the friends may meet there to go to the services at the church.

Many of the city officials and relatives and friends paid their last respects to the memory of Edwin H. DAVIS, who died Monday, at the funeral services held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Christian church, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Dr. U. S. Smith assisted at the services.
Fred W. Mather sang the songs, "Asleep in Jesus" and "Going Down the Valley One by One" and he was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Gus Scott, J. A. Huglin, a member of the K. of P. lodge gave a five minute talk in respect to his fellow lodge man.
The casket attendants were: J. H. Magee, Harley Carter, W. S. Shaw, Ray Whitham, Norvell Switzer and Ralph Larson. The services at the grave were in charge of the K. of P. lodge, and burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

To All Whom It May Concern:
Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Ed H. DAVIS, deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Tuesday, March 11, A. D. 1930, at 2 o'clock p. m., has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 14th day of February, 1930.
