Mon., Jan. 23, 2006.Louis Fred Pratt, 78, of Keosauqua died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006.
A memorial graveside service was held this morning at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. The body has been cremated.

Mr. Pratt was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Utica, the son of Ira and Lola G. Clark Pratt. He married Darlene Louise Marshall June 5, 1955, at Christian Church in Fairfield. She died Sept. 1, 2005.
Mr. Pratt was a longtime resident of Van Buren County. He graduated from Stockport High School in 1945. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He began working for the Allis Chalmers Factory in Cedar Rapids prior to the war and worked there for a time after his discharge. He then joined Prairie Grain Elevator in Stockport and worked there for 27 years. He was then employed at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield for eight years.
Mr. Pratt was a life member of the VFW Post 2271 of Fairfield.
Survivors include four children, Holly Pratt of St. Louis, Mo., Doug Pratt and wife Teri of DeWitt, Peggy Stevens and husband Tony of Hillsboro, and Gayle Hervey and husband Kevin of Keosauqua; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Bob Pratt of DeWitt; and one sister, Carol Ann Chapman of Fairfield.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; and one sister, Jeannette.
