Gladys Irene Derr Poggemiller, 91, of Fort Madison.
Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Donnellson Health Center.

Born Feb. 3, 1915, in Lockridge, she was the daughter of Ernest Irvin and Ella Jane Roe Jeffery. On June 29, 1936, she married Angie “Pansy” Screno Derr. He died March 3, 1960. On Dec. 6, 1986, she married Glen Poggemiller, He died Oct. 15, 1990.

Mrs. Poggemiller worked in the office of Sheaffer Pen Co. for many years and later moved to California, where she worked as a bookkeeper until retiring.

Before moving back to Fort Madison, she was a member of Embury United Methodist Women. In Fort Madison, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and American Legion. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and dancing.

Survivors include three sisters, Florence Kite of Farmington, Virgie Howell of Fort Madison and Velma Little of Moberly, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Soldiers Circle in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and four sisters, one in infancy.
