Victor PARCELL

Victor PARCELL, 72, of Richland, died at 2:42 a.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. He had been in failing health.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Friends Church in Richland, with the Revs. Tim Hadley, Ron Bryan and Stan Bauer officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial has been established for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for research on Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 2237 Highway 34 East, Fairfield 52556.

Mr. PARCELL was born July 10, 1935, in rural Brighton, the son of William B. and Bernice E. DOWD PARCELL. He married Helen F. HOSKINS Sept. 26, 1959, in Pleasant Plain Friends Church.

Mr. PARCELL attended grade schools in Washington County in White Oak, Blackhawk and Rubio. He graduated from Richland High School in 1954. He and his wife farmed near Rubio in Clay Township in Washington County from 1954 until 1995 when he retired due to health problems and moved into Richland.

Mr. PARCELL was a member of Trinity Friends Church in Richland, where he had served as presiding clerk and on ministry and counsel committees. He also served several years as the Clay Township Representative on the ASCS Committee for Washington County and as Clay Township Trustee for many years. He was a member of the Richland Lions Club and Richland Community Club.

Survivors include his wife of Fairfield; two daughters, Melinda CROSBY and husband Larry of Fremont and Melissa GORMAN and husband Patrick of rural Brighton; one son, Joseph PARCELL and wife Diana of rural Brighton; six grandchildren; and one sister, Gertrude WRIGHT of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
