FULLERTON, Corinne Eleanor -- Corinne Eleanor FULLERTON, 87, of New London, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at New London Nursing & Rehab in New London.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with Dan Dingus officiating. Interment will be in Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus City. Following interment, the Shellbark Neighborhood Club will host family and friends at the Masonic Lodge in Columbus City.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the chapel, where family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the fund-raising efforts for an all-weather track for New London Community Schools.

Mrs. FULLERTON was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Columbus Junction, the daughter of Richard and Julia BAKER PETERS. She married Lavon "Sam" FULLERTON Oct. 4, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. They later divorced.

Mrs. FULLERTON attended grade school in the Shellbark School District. She graduated from Columbus Junction High School in 1937. She was a farm wife in her early years. She then became a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in New London. She was the first female letter carrier in Iowa.

Mrs. FULLERTON belonged to New London Presbyterian Church. She was active in her grandchildren's activities and was a wrestling booster. She was a member of Shellbark Neighborhood Club.

She enjoyed hearing her family sing.

Survivors include two sons, E. Richard "Dick" FULLERTON and wife Anna of New London and formerly of Fairfield and Tom FULLERTON and wife Diane of Westminster, Colo.; one daughter, Julia KELLY of New London; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roger PETERS; and one son-in-law, Mike KELLY.
