McKAY, Lloyd K. -- Lloyd K. McKAY, 87, formerly of Packwood, died at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Packwood Christian Church, with the Revs. Harlan Van Voorst and Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials have been established to Packwood Christian Church and Packwood First Responders. Memorials may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1306 Ash Ave., Hedrick 52563.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.

Mr. McKAY was born Aug. 10, 1920, north of Brighton, the son of Charles C. and Grace HOPPING McKAY. He married Genevieve "Jenny" HIXSON Dec. 30, 1948, in Ainsworth. She died June 1, 2006.

Mr. McKAY attended country school at Walnut and high school in Washington. He and his wife farmed north of Brighton until 1951 when they moved to a farm south of Packwood; they farmed until retiring in 1983 and moving into Packwood. He has resided at Parkview Care Center for the past 18 months.

Mr. McKAY attended Packwood Christian Church. He enjoyed camping at the Fort Madison Rodeo, horse training and deer hunting.

Survivors include two sons, Butch McKAY and wife Connie of Hedrick and Donald Keith McKAY of Packwood and three grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Everette McKAY; and one infant granddaughter.
