Eileen M. KUNZMAN

Eileen M. KUNZMAN, 90, formerly of Douds and Fairfield died at 2:22 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Michael Mosier officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds.

Visitation will be open from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 407 20th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.

Mrs. KUNZMAN was born Sept. 10, 1917, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Ernest and Fern SCEARCY CANADAY. She married George W. KUNZMAN Oct. 4, 1952, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ottumwa. He died Dec. 5, 1997.

Mrs. KUNZMAN graduated from Douds High School and Parsons College, taught in rural schools and Selma and Eldon schools and was later employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Ottumwa and Douds post offices.

Most of her life was spent in the Douds area until retiring to Fairfield and later moving to Cedar Rapids.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, John Hyson Reneker Unit 494 American Legion Auxiliary and Twin City Chapter 258 Order of Eastern Star in Douds.

Survivors include one son, George W. KUNZMAN Jr. of Cedar Rapids; one son-in-law, Duane FUNK; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one sister, Velma BRADY of Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Roy CANADAY of Douds.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Barbara FUNK; two brothers, Clarence and Earl CANADAY; and one sister, Lucile FLETCHER.
