Mrs. Mac DAVIS, 411 N. Court St., died suddenly at 11:15 a.m. today at the Jefferson county hospital.
Mrs. DAVIS entered the hospital for treatment Monday. She had been in failing health for some time, but her death was unexpected.
The body is at the Raymond funeral home. Services are pending.

Last rites will be Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Mac DAVIS, well-known Fairfield resident who died yesterday at the Jefferson county hospital.
The services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. DAVIS had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the past few days.
She was born Oct. 16, 1889, at Libertyville, the daughter of Edwin and Elizabeth RINIKER GLOTFELTY. She was reared and educated in Libertyville, attended the Fairfield Academy, and was a graduate from Parsons college.
Josephine Florence GLOTFELTY was united in marriage to Mac M. DAVIS at Fairfield on June 11, 1912. They lived 33 years in Minnesota, 10 years in Washington county and the past 12 years in Fairfield. The family home is at 411 N. Court.
A member of the Methodist church, Mrs. DAVIS was also a member of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. James PUMROY, Ottumwa; a son, George DAVIS, Birmingham, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
