BOYSEL, Mary Joy -- Mary Joy BOYSEL, 86, formerly of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Creston.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.

No visitation is planned.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Cards and memorials may be sent to 808 N. Elm St., Creston 50801.

Mrs. BOYSEL was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Salina, the daughter of Clarence and Nettie Fay SCHILLERSTROM HICKENBOTTOM. She married Lee Edward JOHNSTON Feb. 24, 1950. He died May 9, 1952. She married Carl Eugene BOYSEL June 14, 1956. He also preceded her in death.

Mrs. BOYSEL was a mother and homemaker. She lived most of her life in the Fairfield community until moving to Creston in 1997.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include two children, Judy JOHNSTON PRINGLE of Creston and Steven JOHNSTON of Des Moines; one stepdaughter Karen GRIDLEY and husband Jerry of Blue Grass; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenneth JOHNSTON; and three brothers, Kenneth, Perry and Curt HICKENBOTTOM.
