WICHHART, Don L. -- Don L. WICHHART, 66, of rural Bonaparte, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at home.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews (sic - lower case) officiating. Burial, with military rites by American Legion Sargeant-Oswelier Post 563 of Bonaparte, will be in Thompson Cemetery, southwest of Bonaparte.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 7-8 p.m.
Memorials to Sargeant-Osweiler Post 563 or Bonaparte EMTs may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 25049 Redbud Ave., Bonaparte 52620.
Mr. WICHHART was born April 11, 1941, in Fairfield, the son of Roy and Kathryn POLLOCK WICHHART. He married Vicki MITCHELL BOYLES April 11, 1996, in Las Vegas.
Mr. WICHHART graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1959. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard. He was a heavy equipment operator in road construction with Delong Construction Company of Washington.
Mr. WICHHART was a member of American Legion Sargeant-Osweiler Post 563 of Bonaparte.
Survivors include his wife; one stepdaughter, Stephanie ASHER of Bonaparte; one stepson, Jeff BOYLES of Bloomfield; two granddaughters; one ex-stepdaughter, Colleen LUMSDEN and her daughter of Fort Madison; his mother of Keosauqua; one brother, Gary WICHHART of Rockford, Ill.; and three sisters, Diane BARTHOLOMEW and Rose Mary CHARBONNEAU of Keosauqua and Christine WILEY of Lees Summit, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Thomas WICHHART.
